Abstract:
Next generation respiratory therapeutics will include products based upon structured particles that benefit from improved stability, environmental robustness, controlled release, targeting, and efficacy. Theoretical tools, such as process models, solid phase models, and particle formation models that aid the design process for advanced microparticles are described, and the application of these predictive tools in particle design, manufacturing process development, and formulation development highlighted.
